Windscreen Repair or Auto Glass Repair
We always try to do a glass repair on a chipped windscreen before replacing it.
Save both your time and money on glass repair
Windscreen repair takes place first before replacing your existing windscreen glass with a new one, usually saving you both time and money. Sometimes though, the type, size and position of the damage will mean that a car glass repair is not possible.
Furthermore, not all chipped windscreens need to be repaired. Some small ones can last a lifetime without ever needing a windscreen repair to be done on them. A windscreen chip can also occur on the black ceramic part of the windscreen making it difficult to repair as those areas are too pressurised and when chipped tends to quickly turn to a crack upon impact from an object, or in a couple of days.
Moreover we use an exclusive repair kit and resin, which gives us our best optical match yet.
Types of a windscreen chip
A chip could develop into a crack at any time – and often when you least expect it. That’s why it’s important to do a windscreen repair on a chip as soon as you spot it.
Bull's Eye
A bull’s eye chip is often caused by an impact from a rock or other object that results in a circular chip with a cone in the glass’ outer layer.
Half Moon
These are essentially half a bullseye and leave the same black-like appearance, but they aren’t circular but shaped like a half moon instead
Star Break
A star break leaves an indentation at the impact site. The difference is the outward break pattern which here takes the appearance of a star. Windscreen Repair is needed as soon as you spot it.
Combination Break
As the name suggests, this is where you see a round shaped bullseyes break with a star-break inside of it. It will often have crushed glass around the impact point. Moreover, depending on the size we can advise if you will need a windscreen repair or you will need a new windscreen replacement.
Scratched Auto Glass Repair
Light scuff marks made by poor quality wiper blades, ice scrapers and dirty windscreens could impede the view of the driver potentially causing an accident so the windscreen needs to be clear.
We use a special polishing kit which will remove those light scratches and bring your windscreen back to original quality. We can also remove scratches and scuffs from most other glass/plastic whether it be double glazing, a fancy coffee table or even plastic headlamps.
